Prepare spring purchases for your growing space
In spring, blueberry buds may be swelling while the lawn starts growing and tomato seedlings are still indoors. Each task has its own application conditions. Start with the crop and stage you are planning for. Browse the products, open the full instructions, compare packs and save your purchase. When buying ahead, return to the plan closer to the work and check the actual condition of your plants.
Record bed sizes, shrub counts and fertilizer left from the previous season. For remaining stock, check the name, composition, expiry information and storage instructions on the pack. This helps establish how much new product you need. Measure the planting area you will actually treat. Paths, terraces and the ground occupied by outbuildings do not belong in that calculation.
Account for your region, weather and soil
Select your region in Ukraine to save the location for use and delivery. Then examine the site. Has the soil thawed, does water drain away and have plants started growing? An exposed windy position can develop differently from a sheltered place beside a warm wall. Even neighbouring flowerbeds may be ready for work at different times. After prolonged rain, inspect lower areas where water collects.
A calendar helps organise purchases. Decide when to apply fertilizer using the product instructions, crop and planting condition. If weak growth has no clear cause, inspect the root zone and consider soil analysis. Results help assess acidity and nutrient supply. Label samples from areas with different conditions separately so that any recommendation relates to the right location.
Lawns after winter and preparing new grass
Inspect an existing lawn after the snow has melted. Remove old leaves when you can work without damaging wet turf, and identify regrowing grass, bare patches and standing water. A new lawn requires preparation of the upper soil layer. The lawn grass fertilizer has separate instructions for these tasks, so select the appropriate application method in the calculator.
Measure the area beforehand and check how you will distribute the product evenly and provide any watering required by the instructions. Save separate zones for a lawn divided into several areas. Compare products and read their full conditions on the lawn fertilizers page. After application, record the date and amount used so the next purchase accounts for previous nutrition.
Berries, fruit trees and vines
Separate blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and fruit trees when planning products. The range includes blueberry complexes for different feeding stages. Start with the actual condition of the bushes and the purpose of the specific complex. When calculating by plant count, consider age and size as directed. Save the stage with the product so you can find the correct option when buying another pack.
The blueberry fertilizers and strawberry fertilizers pages lead to relevant products and methods. For trees and vines, check whether a description concerns new planting, established plants or another stage. Combining products for several zones in one purchase is convenient. Keep the amounts and methods for each zone separate.
Roses, spring flowers and ornamental shrubs
List flowers emerging from dormancy and those you still intend to plant. The catalogue includes fertilizers for roses, peonies, lavender, hydrangeas, azaleas and rhododendrons, as well as spring flowers and greens. Read the purpose of the appropriate product. For example, lavender instructions relate application to time after sowing or planting and to flowering. A spring month alone does not describe all these situations.
Alongside rose fertilizers and conifer fertilizers, choose packs for your other ornamental plantings. Separate young and mature plants wherever the instructions require it. If a shrub has winter damage, inspect shoots and roots before feeding. Follow the soil moisture and application conditions stated for the selected product.
Seedlings, vegetables, potatoes and melons
For seedlings, check what nutrition the growing medium already contains and choose instructions for their stage. Consider solution concentration and the amount applied per plant together. Use an adult plant dose for seedlings only where the relevant instructions explicitly permit it. Small seedling cells, balcony pots and open beds require different records of water use and root zone volume.
Plan outdoor vegetable purchases bed by bed. Record areas for vegetables, potatoes and melon crops separately, along with jobs before sowing and after transplanting. The catalogue includes universal complexes, organic-mineral products and specialist fertilizers for these purposes. Start with vegetable fertilizers and check the relevant crop group in the full instructions. Account for nutrition already applied to a bed before buying more.
Greenhouses, hydroponics and houseplants
In controlled conditions, actual growth is the useful starting point. Pay attention to light, temperature and the root zone. Soil based greenhouses and hydroponic systems deliver nutrients differently. If a fertilizer has several methods, read the one that matches your system. Distinguish water volume, prepared solution and concentrate when calculating quantities.
For houseplants, choose an appropriate product and check that the plant is healthy and growing. Record crops and bed areas for a greenhouse; for a solution based system, establish its working volume. If a required measurement is still unknown, save the product and return to the calculation after measuring. This allows you to select a pack using the amount actually required.
Farm orders and choosing packs
For a field or larger farm, prepare crop names, areas, analysis results and the agronomic work plan. DÜNGER offers mineral complexes, organic-mineral fertilizers, ammonium products and liquid complexes. Choose the composition and supply format for your production method. State the required quantity, delivery locality and preferred receipt month. A manager can clarify the product, packaging and dispatch arrangements.
For a small plot, compare the calculated requirement with available packs. The calculator shows whole pack quantities, the remainder and cost for the selected method. Set the number of applications according to your plan and the instructions. Selecting spring does not automatically mean three applications. Save zones in My garden and prepare a seasonal purchase from the product list on this page.
Review every line before checking out. Similar looking packs may contain different formulations or be intended for different stages. Check the full name and selected weight or volume. A saved list is useful for repeat purchases, while current prices and availability should be checked when ordering. Mark anything already purchased in your plan to avoid duplicate orders. Keep packaging with its complete label until you have finished using the product.
Questions about preparing for spring
Can I buy fertilizer well before I need it?
Plan ahead using the expiry information and storage conditions for the specific pack. Check that you have a suitable storage place. A preseason order request can include your preferred receipt month so delivery arrangements can be agreed with a manager.
How do I choose a universal or specialist product?
Compare purpose, composition and the method for your crop. A universal product may include the relevant plant group in its instructions. A specialist option is easy to find by crop name. The final choice depends on plant needs and previous applications.
Does every zone need a separate pack?
If the same product and pack suit two zones, combine their requirements in one purchase. First calculate each zone using its appropriate method. Store any remainder in the original packaging under the stated conditions.
What if spring arrives late?
Check soil and plant condition, and postpone work if the required conditions have not arrived. For a future delivery, discuss available timing changes with the manager. Read the method and rate again before application.
